DO YOU NEED PLANNING PERMISSION
FOR A TEMPORARY STRUCTURE?

While many temporary buildings do not require it, you will likely need planning permission if your structure meets any of the following criteria:

  • Usage Duration: It will be in place for 28 days or more.
  • Size: The total floor area is over 100 square metres.
  • Proximity to Boundary: It is located closer than 5 metres to the boundary of your site.
  • Land Coverage: The structure takes up more than 25% of your site’s total land area.
  • Attachment: It is attached to an existing building and significantly changes its outward appearance.
