Job Specification

Role and responsibility

The Showplace team is regularly on the look out for full-time staff to help with building and installing pods, structures and exhibition stands across the UK.

Ideally you will be interested in, and have experience of, the exhibition industry. This is a hands-on practical role that will involve some workshop assembly duties at our base near Stratford-upon-Avon, as well as some deployment around the UK and very occasionally in Europe. The work will involve working away from home occasionally for a few nights, as well as some weekends.

The successful candidate will have a broad and practical knowledge of working with materials and tools and a willingness to undertake work of a physical nature both indoors and out. They will also embrace our company values which are at the heart of all we do.

In this role, you will:

General

  • CPC is a must (HGV1 OR 2 a bonus)
  • Organisation of yard areas – storage of trailers and pods
  • Preparing trailers and pods for events
  • Transport maintenance, vehicle checks and logs
 

Trailers

  • Undertaking refurb/maintenance of all trailers
  • Cleaning and preparation for future projects
  • Assisting with the preparations/loading of exhibition trailers 
  • Working alongside internals department for items going to site (tables/chairs/TVs etc.)
  • Responsible for trailer graphics, stock-take/cleaning/loading and unloading
 

Pods

  • Storage
  • Maintenance/cleaning
  • Preparation for future projects
  • Loading and unloading
 

Site

  • Set up and takedown at events
  • Building rapport with customers
  • Site housekeeping
 

Requirements

  • Forklift licence 
  • General handy person
  • Basic welding skills are a bonus
  • Driving licence 
  • Requirement to conform with, and adhere to, the Quality Management System as assigned by Showplace Ltd to ISO 9001:2015 Standard
 
In addition, the following is expected to fit well in the team:

  • Full, clean driving licence

It will be very important for the candidate to understand and share the company’s goals and purpose, and demonstrate and advocate the company values.
