Stratford Food Festival at The Races is Well Turned Out

The Showplace team pulled together at the end of May to build and run the annual Stratford Food Festival this year taking place alongside a weekend of horse racing at Stratford Racecourse. While the smaller sister company Showplace Events had been organising the event for 6 months prior, the Showplace team all had their part to play when delivering the event.

The event was well turned out, just like most of the horses, with 15,000 visitors attending over the weekend. The Races added to the atmosphere for the weekend, while the glorious summer sunshine and fine foods by artisan producers made for a tasty twist on your usual racing weekend.

Local, Stratford-upon-Avon restaurant, The Lazy Cow had key involvement this year serving up delicious hot food and a selection of cocktails as well as live music and butchery demonstrations on their stand. Brewers from North Cotswold Brewery, Church Farm Brewery and Severn Cider proved popular in our Real Ale and Cider tent over the weekend. Additionally the free cookery workshops were a key feature to the weekend on the Sunday as Kidz Kitchen involved around 60 children in their fun and educational sessions. More news to follow on plans for Stratford Food Festival 2015.
