Going Green and Pitching Tents

This year the Stratford Food Festival, run by Stratford-based Showplace Events, is set to be the biggest and best yet.  Because the venue has changed to the Stratford Racecourse, we can all go a bit greener as there will be recycling facilities on site to recycle all glass, plastic and paper waste.  New also this year will be the option of booking a camp site as there will be plenty of space for camping within walking distance of all the events.  Visitors attending the festival September 14 – 15 can book a site directly through the racecourse itself.  There will be plenty to keep everyone of all ages happy over the entire weekend.  This year promises a more festival atmosphere, with food demos, live music and entertainment.  Some highlights of the event are the Saturday headline act Sophie Michell, Michelin star chef and presenter for Channel 4’s popular food series “Cook Yourself  Thin”.  Sunday the headline act will be Paul Hollywood, celebrity baker and head baker at some of the most exclusive hotels in the country.  Paul is also famous for his role as a judge on BBC 2’s BAFTA Award winning “The Great British Bake Off”.  The headline acts will take place in the Cookery Theatre along with other chef talents.  The Talk and Taste area will be back by popular demand.  Here you’ll experience everything from wine tasting to cake decorating.  There will be a live performance stage with various popular acts performing throughout the weekend.  Other highlights include the Great Taste Market, Children’s Activity Area & Rides, a Local Exhibitor Tent and Interactive Workshops with food industry professionals.  It’s a weekend not to be missed.  More information can be found and booking made through The Stratford Food Festival web site – www.stratfordfoodfestival.co.uk.
